Tue 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
The Westwood Historical Society – in collaboration with the Westwood Public Library – will be hosting a special genealogy presentation with Joy Marzolf, via Zoom.
Joy Marzolf has always had a passion for genealogy. In this presentation, she’ll talk about her “virtual adventure through the past.” Joy began by following what she thought was her mother's early family history through Nova Scotia and England. In preparation for trips to both places, she did extensive research and began uncovering previously unknown parts of her family tree. Along the virtual path, she solved some family mysteries, recovered a priceless family heirloom, visited historic family houses and early cemeteries – and discovered not only more about her ancestors, but much about herself.
In pursuing one very "famous" ancestral line, Joy also found another line, previously unknown, that links her to the earliest days of Massachusetts and one of the early family lines living in the Dedham/Westwood/Medfield/Natick area. (Join us to see who she’s linked to!) Joy will also talk about her continuing adventures in genealogy, her methodology and the resources she used in her search.
Meeting information, including a direct link to the meeting, will be sent in your confirmation email, and again in a reminder email you will receive before the meeting.
