The Dedham Art Association announces the opening of its annual Spring Members' Exhibit at the Westwood Public Library. Artwork is showcased in the Gallery until May 31st! Professional artist, Judy Metcalfe served as the judge for the exhibit awards during a showcase reception held on Wednesday, May 7. Judy Metcalfe is a local artist living in Rockport, MA. She has exhibited paintings from New England to the Mid-Atlantic states, from Boston's Newbury Street to the Salmagundi Club and National Arts Club in New York City. Her paintings are part of national and International collections and have been featured in art books and magazines such as: Watercolor Magazine, American Artist Magazine and Best of America Watermedia.
The exhibit of original art displays a variety of mediums, including paintings, pastel, photography, collage and printmaking. The exhibitors are current members of the Dedham Art Association.
The Dedham Art Associaion is a non-profit organization committed to enriching communities through art and providing artists with a congenial atmosphere to create art. Though centered in Dedham, the Association has numerous artists from many local communities. Members participate in a weekly painting group and enjoy critques of their work by professional artists. Demonstrations are presented at monthly meetings, hands-on workshops are taught by professional artists, and members enjoy outisins such as museum trips and paiting outdoors.
