Sensory Storytime

For children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other developmental delays and a parent/caregiver (siblings are also welcome!). We will enjoy stories, rhymes, and songs together in this sensory-friendly storytime. This 20-minute storytime will feature a visual schedule, hello & goodbye songs accompanied by American Sign Language, and a sensory-friendly activity at the end – perfect for group or parallel play. Mother/Daughter Book Club

For girls in grades 3 -5 and a female adult. Share your enthusiasm for reading with other book lovers and join us for lively discussion, a game of Pictionary, snacks, and fun! Check the library website for a listing of the book to be read. Books will be available at the Kids’ Department ASK! Desk the month before. Interested in coming? Middle School Author Panel

For kids in grades 4 and up & adults. Westwood Public Library will welcome middle grade authors Victoria J. Coe (Fenway and Hattie), Bridget Hodder (The Rat Prince), Lee Gjersten Malone (The Last Boy at St. Edith’s), Erin Petti (The Peculiar Haunting of Thelma Bee), Elly Swartz (Finding Perfect), and Monica Tesler (Bounders)! This exciting panel will talk about writing, the inspiration behind their books, and so much more! There will be a Q & A and a chance to get your books signed by the author. Books will also be available to purchase at the event.
